Who doesn't know about Marugame Udon. I found this restaurant at Grand Indonesia for the first time. As its name, it's specialty is udon. Udon is a type of thick wheat flour noodle of Japanese cuisine. Udon is often served hot as a noodle soup, like the one I ordered here. Except udon, they also sell lot of fried tempura. This are the portion for 2 persons. Learn from me! I can't finish for 1 bowl with 1 tempura. So, if you want to eat lots of tempura, I suggest to eat kids menu for the udon. I tried 2 types of Udon, with simple soup (Kitsune udon) and a kind of miso soup (tori baitan udon). I prefer their simple soup or clear soup. Kitsune Udon used their simple soup, topped with tofu skin or Inari and seaweed. In the other hand, tori baitan filled with chicken meat ball and seaweed. Add their fried tempura for some crispy taste. Over all, its great but too much seasonings or we called 'micin' in Indonesia. They do have a lot of fried tempura 1. egg tempura : hard boiled egg 2. chikuwa : fish ball but longer type 3. skewered tofu roll : fried skin tofu 4. kakiage : my favourite!! vegetable tempura!
