I noticed how many kopitiam in Jakarta right now, named like Kopi(tiam) oey, bangi kopi(tiam), kopitiam, yakun kaya toast, q kopi(tiam) etc. It's everywhere! But I always confuse what kopitiam really means. I've search at the internet and the real meaning of kopitiam is kopi (coffee) and tiam (shop). It originally came from Malaysia and Singapore. In it's origin, kopitiam sell a variety of foods based on egg, toast, kaya, coffee, tea and milo milk. But somehow, it twisted and develop into cafe. Hehe.

I ate at this place since it was Lau's Kopitiam, and since I can't remember, it magically change the name as Lau's Kopi. I heard because some company already patent the name of Kopitiam. Kopitiam itself is named after kopi and tiam, which means Kedai kopi (cafe). There are so many kopitiam with different named of course in Jakarta, but for the food, Lau's Kopi is one of my favourite.
Last week, I decided to escape for just a while from my routine. But at that moment, I didn't think I could go that far. So I just went to a near town, BOGOR. My first arrival there, I didn't know what to do, or where to go. Thanks to my dear friend in Path, I decided to go to this restaurant. It said on the 'Modern Kopitiam'. They served dimsum and other kopitiam menu. Yes they did.
